Special Educational Needs

Be positive, resilient and move forward

Ulverley's Local Offer for Special Educational Needs and/ or Disability

Ulverley School is committed to inclusion. We believe that all children, including those identified as having Special Educational Needs and/ or Disability (SEND) are entitled to a meaningful and high quality education.

In order to accommodate the differing needs of our SEND children, we offer a more personalised teaching and learning approach to meet the academic, social and emotional and behavioural needs of our children.

We provide an active and nurturing learning environment, where our children feel safe and secure and are inspired to follow their dreams.

In September 2014, the government published the revised Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0-25 years. This is a statutory document outlining the legal requirements that schools, health professionals and social care must have in place to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.

The Local offer is a lengthy document so it has been broken down into the headings. Click on the hyperlinked headings to read each section or alternatively read the whole document in on our Polices page.

Here  is a copy of the powerpoint presentation delivered to parents at the SEN  Parents Information  Evening on 5th February 2015. The document outlines the changes made to provision for SEN as stated in the SEN Code of Practice 2014.
