Who is in the Pastoral Team?

The Pastoral Team consists of Mrs Collins (Inclusion Manager) and Mrs King. They are sometimes supported by Mr Pratt and Mr Sleigh.

What do the Pastoral Team do?

Could you work to the best of your ability when other things are on your mind? At Ulverley we believe that you can only be successful if your emotional well-being is secure. Our Pastoral Team work with our children to ensure everyone is ready to learn. They do this by providing a range of interventions from 1:1 therapeutic play to group sessions on assertiveness, anger management or friendship skills. These tailor made sessions provide children with the tools to change their behaviour and outlook, to ensure they are ready to learn and be academically successful.

The pastoral team also works alongside outside agencies to support individuals with specialist skills such as counselling from Malachi and the Social, Emotional and Mental Health team with SISS (Specialist Inclusion Support Service).

Lunchtimes can sometimes be difficult for some children, so the pastoral team have set up daily clubs and arranged exciting opportunities from Bollywood dancing to football coaching sessions so children can learn new skills to independently apply during play sessions. The Pastoral Team and Senior Management Team also support the children’s play on the playground too.

Our dedicated staff will refer children to the Pastoral Team if they have a concern about a child. If you are worried about your child’s emotional well-being please contact a member of our Pastoral Team.
