CURRICULUM

Be purposeful

We are Curriculum at Ulverley School

Ulverley School encourages the teaching of a holistic curriculum, centralising around themes that ensures children apply their knowledge, understanding and skills in core subject such as English, Mathematics, Science and Computing. The school is fortunate enough to enjoy lush grounds with ample space for exploration and nature work, and therefore the Forest School is a popular and worthwhile part of the curriculum.

Outdoor learning is also a high priority at our school to make sure we enrich the learning taking place. Spanish is being taught by our foreign languages leader Mrs Lanham, a dedicated drama studio is actively used for music and drama. Trips and residential visits also support the teaching and learning of all subjects of the Curriculum.

We also have a dedication to sports such as football, netball, basketball, athletics, table tennis and more. Our most recent Ofsted report stated our approach to developing the children's social and emotional well-being was a strength of the school. Our school and class councils, Teamship award assemblies and outstanding level of pastoral care given by all who work at the school, ensures a safe and positive learning environment for our children and thus creates a launch pad for their success in the future.

We are Ulverley!

Due to the thematic way we present the curriculum some topics have not been confirmed. This is because we like to make learning meaningful and inspiring to all learners and use opportunities, events or initiative that are present throughout the year to have a real life purpose. Below is the National Curriculum covered by all year groups, click on the name of the year group to view the curriculum being followed!
