Toilets

Toilets are located opposite the Year One classrooms.

 

PE

We have one weekly session of PE so all children will need a PE kit on their peg at all times. The kit must include labeled white t-shirt, labeled navy or black shorts and labeled black pumps.

 

Snack

The children are provided with a healthy fruit/vegetable based snack each day. Please do not send in additional snack food. A labeled water flask must be brought in on a Monday and will be sent home on a Friday for cleaning. No squash is allowed.

 

Forest School

Please provide labeled wellies for year-long use.

 

Teamship Assembly

On a Friday afternoon, we have Teamship Assembly, where we award children who have worked hard to apply their learning and have behaved according to Ulverley expectations and Teamship rules.

 

Homework

Children are given homework challenges each half term that are linked to the topic theme for that half term. The children will also be issued with a Phonics Word Book which will reflect the words and sounds they are learning at school.

Reading books will be changed once a week to begin with, increasing to twice a week as term gets underway.

 

Learning environment

We have tried hard to develop our learning environments and our curriculum to ensure a smooth transition from the Foundation Stage to the National Curriculum. Play and exploration are still at the heart of our curriculum and we are committed to ensuring our classrooms are stimulating and purposeful.
