Teacher Information

Miss Burke, Miss Tibbs and Mrs Lanham are the teachers in Year 5. They are supported by Mrs Lawlor, Mrs Evans, Mrs Bird, Mrs Hossain and Miss Haigh. If you need to speak to us at the end of the day we are available, alternatively make an appointment with us through Mrs Hill at the school office.

Snacks

Children should have a water bottle in class every day which they can refill at school. They will also need to have healthy snack for playtime, snacks are also available to purchase from the snack trolley for around 20p.

PE

PE is taught at various time through the week.  Luckily, we have sports coach PE lessons with Warwickshire Cricket and Mykey Pryce as well as sessions with our teachers.  This means pupils need their PE kit in school at all times.

Homework

We assign homework every Friday. We alternate each week between Literacy and Maths homework. Sometimes this will be curriculum homework. Reading books will be changed on a Monday, but your child can change it more regularly if they want to. Spellings are practiced in school during reading workshop. Each new section of this research project is given on a Friday along with our spellings.  Children can change their reading book daily, in Year 5 it is up to them to regularly change their home reader.  Pupils should read for at least 10 minutes each day at home.

Learning environment

As you probably know the classrooms at Ulverley are a little different from the traditional classroom. We have looked at different learning styles and  environments and tried to match the requirements of our classes to the classroom.
